DMZ
The Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) is a buffer area established through treaties or agreements to prohibit the presence of weapons and military forces. It is designed to prevent armed conflict and protect key international transportation routes. Within the DMZ, military activity, including the deployment of troops, weapons, and military facilities, is strictly forbidden. Despite its status as a zone of intense military tension and confrontation, it is also a unique haven for biodiversity, home to a rich and largely undisturbed natural ecosystem.

Note: DMZ is closed on Mondays, alternative morning activity is to visit the Paju Imjingak Peace Gondola.

Registration deadline for DMZ tour: 21 June
