We invite submissions for the second of the two panels in the mini-conference on political science knowledge production. This panel will be dedicated to exploring the development of political science research and its dynamic interplay with other disciplines. It seeks to address the contours of political science research, examining how themes, regions of study, and methodologies have evolved over time. We also welcome papers that analyze the interdisciplinary nature of political science, highlighting the influence of adjacent fields such as sociology, economics, and history on political research.
Key topics of interest include the historical trajectory of political science themes, the geographic focus and its shifts over decades, and the methodological advancements that have shaped contemporary political inquiry. Additionally, we are interested in papers that investigate the structure of scholarly networks, including collaborations across disciplines and international boundaries, and how these networks influence research agendas and knowledge production. By bringing together diverse perspectives, this panel aims to foster a comprehensive understanding of the past, present, and future directions of political science research.
