Liberal Democracy, Multilateralism and Global Citizenship

The vision of the founders of the United Nations was a world without war. The UN focuses on peace and security, economic development, and human rights. These three pillars have been the compass of the UN's commitment to a world of peace and co-prosperity. But today's world is embroiled in persistent regional armed conflicts and witnessing the rise of illiberal democracy. We need to restore the spirit of multilateralism and foster global citizenship, especially among the world's political leaders.
