This panel discusses polarised societies and its phenomena of mis/disinformation, cognitive warfare, propaganda, autocratization and illiberalism The papers also engage with key theorists from Habermas to Jessop and Castoriadis. There are studies that focus on the psychological underpinnings and appeal that can be found in connection to polarisation and populist politics.
