Description

Thanks to the rise of geopolitical tensions, sovereign states and non-state actors have been engaged in strategies to reduce risks associated to war, potential military conflict, and nationalistic economic policy. The panel discusses the politics behind those strategies, which include the application of conventional industrial policy, as well as new tools concerning the access to critical raw materials. The papers converge towards the resurgence of state-centric approaches that nevertheless cannot ignore the demands of stakeholders who are interested in mitigating the impact of deglobalizing trends in the world economy.
