The panel aims to discuss current human rights research from different theoretical and methodological perspectives. Participants are expected to present different approaches to understanding human rights, including normative, empirical, historical and comparative research. Topics may include, but are not limited to, civil liberties, political freedoms, social and economic rights, gender and minority rights, international human rights institutions and challenges to enforcing and respecting human rights. The seminar aims to contribute to developing human rights research and its impact on policy and practice.
