Papers are welcome to consider the relationship between citizenship and transformations in or political contestation of sovereignty and political community, including state formation or disintegration, nationalism, sovereignty or secession movements, language, ethnic or other minorities, the politics of diaspora mobilization (including conflicts, democratization, voting, and economic development), and subnational, supranational (e.g., European Union, Mercosur, Commonwealth, African Union, etc), multilevel, corporate, or global citizenship. Papers may also consider other uses of citizenship in international politics such as passportization, borders and boundaries of citizenship, and any aspects of citizenship not covered under the above categories.
