The IPSA-Concordia Summer Institute in Applied Diplomacy brought together students from across the globe to learn about Diplomacy in the modern world. Over the course of two weeks, these students worked together to consult on real-world case studies that ranged from the broad view of diplomacy in the face of global change to the more specific understandings of diplomacy in the Arctic. This panel will discuss their experiences in the summer institute, and present their papers. These papers include: Liam Doran’s Case Study: Advancing CODES; Abdelrahman Kamel’s Culture as Mediation: Qatar’s Cultural Programs in Regional Diplomacy and Global Perception; Miranda Huron’s Arctic Council: A Case Study on Diplomacy under Sanctions; and Mel Large’s Arctic Diplomacy through Arts and Relationships.
