Description
Which economic elements make states to build alliances among themselves? With the rise of geopolitical competition, the literature on International Political Economy (IPE) has witnessed a revival of the concept of statecraft, which implies in deploying strategies to enhance a sovereign unit's power. The panel comprises papers that explore both deliberate diplomatic action and the establishment of economic ties as strategies of statecrafting in the 21st century. Cases related to established and emerging powers are discussed.
