The Political Economy of Investment Flows

Which are the determinants of foreign direct investment (FDI)? How do state and private actors interact with each other in the quest for attracting capital and finding profitable outlets for national capitalists? The panel aims to explore the politics behind inflows and outflows of FDI, with a focus on institutions (both domestic and international) and the role of state-society interactions in shaping capital movements around the globe.
