Description

Women play a crucial yet often underutilized role in crisis and disaster management. This panel will emphasize the significant impact of women’s leadership on organizational development, volunteering, and community service, and explore how their inclusion in decision-making and leadership can reduce disaster risk and empower communities. Women leaders often embody values such as resilience, integrity, and empathy, which are critical during crises.

Despite existing research, a gap remains in understanding how women’s leadership can improve participation and diversity in crisis decision-making. This panel will address this gap by exploring the benefits and challenges of integrating women into leadership roles and proposing strategies to enhance their effective inclusion.

Join us to explore how gender diversity can lead to better outcomes in high-risk situations and advance crisis management practices.
