Description
Gender Politics in the Global South consists of a wide range of issues and challenges where the complex socio-economic and cultural landscapes of these regions shape the politics of the global south. Unlike the Global North, where women are in comparatively better positions, the Global South faces a broader spectrum of constraints. In many parts of the Global South, traditional social norms are still dominated where patriarchal setups define gender roles. While progress has been made in some areas, political representation remains a critical issue. Women in leadership roles often face multiple challenges. This panel aims to bring new insights into the gender politics existing in the global south.
