Description
Why are women still underrepresented in electoral politics around the world? What are the barriers they face--institutional and social? In the journey from "tradition" to "modernity," do women gain or lose political voice and agency? How can efforts to improve gender representation also manage to be intersectional? Written across geographically distant and culturally diverse settings as far afield as Chile and India's Meghalaya, the papers on this panel raise questions about the obstacles getting to a more gender equal politics.
