There are various ways to decipher the multiple ways in which the contemporary politics is increasingly being autocratized in the today's era which is marked by growing authoritarianism One such way is to study and explore the philosophical frameworks like existentialism and nihilism.These frameworks in their design questions and explains the features of these autocratic regimes and its tendencies. Existentialism with its focus on individual freedom ,responsibility, and the search for meaning often stands in stark contrast to the rigid control and the centralized power typical of autocratic regimes. Conversely, nihilism’s rejection of inherent meaning and values can provide a magnified look into the disillusionment and cynicism that fuel the authoritarian tendencies .
How do existentialist ideas about freedom and authenticity clash with the demands of autocratic governance? In what ways does the rise of nihilism reflect or contribute to the erosion of democratic principles? Can the spread of nihilistic attitudes lead to a society more susceptible to autocratic control?
