Biodiversity matters to human beings. This panel aims to probe some questions:
1. How do people perceive the biodiversity? Will the public opinion differ from the general conception in scientific terms or from the perspective of policy?
2. How does the biodiversity change over time and across regions?
3. What is the significance of specific plants and animals in the social context? For the same species, will there be differences in the public perceptions that depend on heterogeneous culture?
4. How does biodiversity impact human creations, such as, literature, paiting, music, architecture, etc.?
5. How does the public awareness of biodiversity influence the climate politics of local and central governments?
This panel encourages theoretical and empirical contributions to this topic, beyond the questions above.
