Challenges of Multiculturalism in South Korea

This panel will address the current status, challenges, and opportunities associated with the multicultural transformation of South Korea. The panel will particularly explore the trend of demographic changes and transnational migration, educational exchanges, and economic transactions in order to shed light on the obstacles to multicultural Korea despite the growing demands. Furthermore, this panel will discuss the potential for multiculturalism to contribute to the political and economic development of Korean society, particularly in light of the challenges posed by an ageing population and economic decoupling.
