Format

The 2025 IPSA World Congress of Political Science will be a fully in-person event. This decision by the IPSA Executive Committee aims to maximize the benefits of in-person interactions, essential for networking and collaboration. Participants can engage more fully in sessions, workshops, and presentations, facilitating dynamic discussions and enhancing the learning experience. The focused environment minimizes distractions, and the reliability of in-person participation eliminates technological disruptions, ensuring a smooth and consistent conference experience. Additionally, holding the congress in Seoul offers a unique opportunity for cultural exchange, allowing attendees to experience South Korea’s rich history and traditions. IPSA is also working on introducing a fully virtual event in the near future. Please stay tuned for more information on the official IPSA website.

Language

The general requirement for oral presentations at the Congress is that they be delivered in one of the official IPSA languages, English and French, or in the official language of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), in the case of the upcoming 2025 World Congress, Korean.

However, in order to promote greater inclusivity and enrich our academic discussions, we are pleased to introduce a new policy for the IPSA World Congress that allows participants in closed panels to present in other languages, provided that all panel members agree. Note that only one other language (other than English, French or Korean in the case of LOC panels) should be used in the closed panel and not multiple languages. It is important to remember that all paper and panel submissions must still be written in English, French, or Korean if submitted to LOC tracks.

Presentations

Each presentation room will be equipped with a computer, a screen and a projector. Wi-Fi Internet connection will be available. Each computer is equipped with the Microsoft Office suite. Please be sure to have your presentation ready on a USB drive (memory stick).

The panel is 1h45min in length, and must include time for questions. For more information about your individual panel presentation, please contact your panel convenor or panel chair directly.
