Description

Scholarship on the international political economy of China's development has already well scrutinized the weight of foreign factors in shaping that country's unique economic system. Less obvious, however, is the impact of other states and corporations in general over Chinese strength in the global economy. This panel aims to unpack the impact of state and corporate practices from within and outside China over its strategies as an emerging market and a rising power alike. The findings point out to the need of developing more nuanced theoretical and empirical models of analysis for making sense of Beijing's influence over global capitalism and political order.
