Religion and Secularism in South Asia

This panel will critically examine the relationship between religion and secularism in South Asia. It will question the conventional wisdom that upon secularism is premised on the exclusion of politics from the political sphere and interrogate the uses of religion in the nation-building policies of states in the region.
