Census Politics and Demographic Change in Multi-Ethnic Societies

This panel welcomes papers on aspects of the politics of population censuses and/or demographic change in multi-ethnic societies. Potential topics could include disputes about the holding of censuses, about the design of census questions about ethnicity, census boycotts, demographic engineering and debates about the political consequences of demographic change. Comparative papers as well as in-depth case studies are welcome.
